July 4, 2013

Since July 4th fell on a Thursday we couldn't go to Austin like we normally do so we hung out here with some friends.  We met my parents for lunch and then our friends Scott and Jenny were nice enough to invite us out to her parents house to cook out and take the kids swimming.  This was the first time Holt liked the pool and strangely enough, the water was colder than ever before.  Holt and Brynlee  both seemed to like their floats and just coasted as though they didn't have a care in the world.  Lol. It was a nice and relaxing day.

I really amazed at how much I love being a mom and how much joy this little boy brings me.  My heart runneth over.......

July 23, 2013  but it should actually be June 17, 2013

  Holt's 7 month birthday!

Dan, Holt and I went to Ft. Worth for a few days to enjoy some family time and what I can now say, for Dan to go for a job interview.  We all needed a little break from the everyday grind so we thought we'd make a little trip out of it and enjoy the getaway.  Tony, the Executive Vice President of the company was nice enough to invite Holt and I on a little tour of the company before Dan went to his official interview.  I'm sure not many people take their 7 month old to an interview, and yes, it was awkward, but humorous looking back and definitely a moment we will never forget, and it was Tony's idea! We were walking around the facility as Tony was explaining everything to us and Tony suggested Dan hold Holt as he knew my arms were probably getting a little tired.  I tried to object, given that Dan was dressed in a suit and anyone whose ever been around a teething baby knows the amount of drool they produce.  Tony insisted Dan hold him so he laid a handkerchief over Dan's shoulder and proceeded with the tour.  We got lots of funny looks as we were introduced to many of the company's upper management while Dan carried Holt. It was too funny and we now joke that Holt got Dan the job.  Really, who brings a baby to meet their potential employer?  Ha!Ha!
We stayed in Ft. Worth for that night and drove around and checked out some areas the next day.  Dan was off the whole week so we all just hung out and took it easy.

These are just a few highlights of the month.

Holt still doesn't like green beans.

We ran our first 5K as a family.

This was one of the first times Holt sat up all by himself.

He is my child!  I caught him reading my US Weekly.

He was such a good shopping buddy.
